Did you know that August is:
National Peaches Month!
$ – You’re a Peach Date! Pick up two peaches at the grocery store, or better yet! Browse through a local farmer’s market together. Go cuddle on a park bench and eat your juicy summer fruit together.
National Golf Month
$$ Sweet Swings Date! Take your man for a fun game of mini golf and pizza. Hold hands between holes, and pucker up when he gets a hole-in-one! Challenge him to a fun arcade like skeet ball or air hockey. Don’t forget to use those winning tickets/tokens to get him a prize!
Romance Awareness Month
$-$$$ Use Your Imagination Date! Recreate a romantic date that the two of you once had. It could be from an anniversary, before you were married, or just a fun memory. Get creative if you can’t actually go to the location. Try to re-create the moment at home. Remember the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and feels from the date.
National Picnic Month
$-$$ Pick a Picnic Spot Date! Try this twist on a picnic. Pick a unique spot for your picnic like on your tailgate watching planes take off at the airport, up a tree, or on your roof. Pack some of your favorite foods and bring some fun decorations like Chinese paper lanterns, confetti, or silly string. Cool off from a hot day by bringing water balloons or squirt bottles from the dollar store. Just be yourselves, have fun, and dare to get a little crazy!
Picnic Progressive Dinner. Grab smoothies or drinks from your favorite drink place and enjoy on a nearby park bench. Pick up salads at a grocery store and head out to that grassy knoll in their parking lot. Snag sandwiches or hot fried chicken and the works from a deli and find a picnic table at a local park. Finish the night off with ice cream strolling hand-in-hand through downtown or another park.
$-$$ Panini Date! Surprise your spouse with lunch on a weekday. Head to Panera Bread or your favorite panini place. Get paninis, salads or soups, and drinks, and just enjoy each other’s company. Hold hands, stare adoringly into each other’s eyes, and smooch a little… ok, a lot! It’s good for the body… and the soul!
August 28th, today, is National Cherry Turnover Day!
$- Sexy Cherry Date Night! Pick out your best red outfit – complete with the accessories and shoes. Make this delicious cherry turnover recipe or pick some up from your local store.
