Stop Being So Busy, Day 8
Romantic Act of the Day: We all tend to be really busy these days. Today stop whatever busy work you’re doing (from vacuuming to laundry to straightening a room, etc), and join him in whatever activity he’s doing. Perhaps your husband is watching a football game. Maybe he’s playing a computer game. Or maybe he’s reading a book. Whatever he’s doing, go over to him, give him a hug and a kiss, and say, “Honey, I’d like to… fill in the blank [watch whatever you’re watching, hear about what you’re reading, watch you play your game].
I am fascinated when my husband talks about computers or outer space, not because those subjects particularly thrill me, but because his eyes light up and he gets this excited tone of voice and it’s extremely attractive to me.
Perhaps it’s not something you enjoy, but one of the great ways you can build intimacy and strengthen your marriage is to set aside your personal interests and pay attention to his once in awhile.
Read my post from last April for more ideas – Give Things He Loves a Chance.
