Love is in the Air
Ready to be challenged?
April is Couples Appreciation Month, and to celebrate the coming of spring, I’m kicking off the “LOVE IS IN THE AIR DARE.”
What is it? The Love is in the Air Dare is a way for you to give your husband some extra special lovin’ during the month of April. We’re pledging to love, honor, and respect to the nth degree this month.
Who does it involve? You and your husband, of course!
When does it start? It begins Sunday, April 1st and goes until Monday, April 30th.
Where does it take place? In your own home, but you can celebrate with the BHE community also.
How can I participate? Simply pledge to love, honor, and respect your husband through your words, actions, body, time, money and gifts for the month of April. Take time to pray. Write your pledge down (it can be in your own words) and sign and date it. Be sure to share it with your husband! ;o)
Each day I’ll be posting suggestions for ways to love on your husband for the day (on Saturdays there will be 2 suggestions since I will not normally post on Sundays. This upcoming Sunday is an exception). Share your experiences here on the blog via comments, shoot me an Email, or connect on Facebook or Twitter.
Why do the dare? My prayer is that wives would openly embrace and reclaim joy, love, and passion in their marriages during this upcoming month in a fun, creative, and godly way. I pray that husbands, mine included, would feel and know the love and respect we have for them and would be honored by our commitment. I pray that God would be glorified as we take off on this journey through the month of April completely and totally in love with our husbands. As a redeemed Eve, we’ve been given two incredible gifts – the gift of new life and the gift of love. That’s worth celebrating!
Song of Solomon 2:16 says, “My beloved is mine, and I am his.”
Love Letters Challenge
I am aware that not all my readers are married, so I wanted to create a challenge for you single ladies, ladies in waiting, and women who are no longer married.
Jeremiah 31:3 says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” God made a covenant with Noah never to flood the entire earth again and He sent a sign of this covenant – of His everlasting love – a rainbow. This month, I challenge you to “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8), to be on the look out for God’s love. Daily, God sends us little “love letters,” but often we’re too busy to notice. God’s love is in the air too – His love is all around us – and we need to be noticing Him. Psalm 57:10 says, “For great is Your love, reaching to the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” Pay attention to the loving God wants to pour on you, ladies!
What is it? Be on the look out for God’s love. Keep track daily of the “love letters” God sends you. This could be in the form of a beautiful flower, a kind word from a friend, a stranger holding the door open for you, a picturesque sunset or sunrise, a piece of music, a quote you came across, a particular Bible verse…anything really! What makes you feel loved by God? Pay attention to it!
Who does it involve? Just you and God, but you can include us in the BHE community by posting comments, shooting me Email, or connecting and sharing via Facebook and Twitter. I’ll be posting on Facebook and Twitter, sharing my daily love letters from God with you.
When does it start? April 1st-April 30th.
Where does it take place? Anyplace and anywhere God’s love touches you.
How can I participate? I encourage you to keep a journal of God’s love letters to you. If you’re an artist, I encourage you to try and capture evidence of God’s love on paper through your art form (i.e. watercolors, drawing, poetry, photography, etc). This doesn’t have to be done daily, but feel free to challenge yourself. Connect with us in the BHE community if you choose and share how God’s love is impacting your life.
Why do the dare? The more in tune with God we are, the more we will see evidence of His love and mercy in our lives. Psalm 27:13 says, “I would have lost heart had I not believed I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Believe you will see God’s goodness and His rich and extravagant love and He’ll start popping up in places you didn’t expect and warm your heart. Our hearts are so important to God. He loves us and longs to romance us. Ladies, let your heart be romanced this April, and for the months following.
Can I do both?
If you’re doing the marriage: Love is in the Air Dare, you don’t have to do both, but I highly encourage both.
1 John 4:7 and 19 says, “Beloved, let us love one another for love comes from God and everyone who loves knows God and is born of God…We love because He first loved us.”
Allow God’s love to be poured out of you onto your husband. And if you aren’t married, practice loving others this month regardless of your relationship status. Make it a point to surprise someone and love on them a little once a week.
So whose ready for a whole lot of loving?
